The Savoy Jazz Trio, Boston and Southern New Hampshire based musicians, have been performing throughout New England for over 30 years. These professionals provide quality musical entertainment for corporate events, weddings, functions, concerts, nightclubs and house parties in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont and New York.
Led by pianist-singer Peter Hostage, and accompanied by some of Greater Boston’s best bassists and drummers, The Savoy Jazz Trio plays a wide variety of jazz styles including swing, Latin jazz, bop, funk, blues and more. But the Savoy Jazz Trio can bring more than just cool jazz to your event. They can turn up the heat with classic R&B, funk, rock’n’roll and jump blues, for a memorable, fun and exciting dance party event.
The SJT specializes in the songs from the Great American Songbook: the songs from the era of Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, and George & Ira Gershwin. Add in some Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Mile Davis, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck and Herbie Hancock for a complete cross-section of jazz, including some Bossa Nova and Latin jazz, bluesy grooves and funky rhythms.
Singer-pianist Peter Hostage enhances the variety of the SJT repertoire with vocal renditions of many of the standards, plus songs from Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Louis Jordan, Dr. John.
The SJT can perform with added musicians if you are looking for a bigger sound, for a bigger event or venue. We often add sax and trumpet for a mini-big band sound, and occasionally perform as a 9 piece swing orchestra for a really big band sound.
